Housing - Estate Manager - £15.20 ph + holiday pay


Applicants must have previous experience working within Local Authorities

This is a 2 month booking with view to extend

We are looking for an experienced Housing - Estate Manager to work within a busy team based in Wandsworth.

Duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Day to day management of routine repair of dwellings within the area
  • Main point of local contact with tenants & leaseholders
  • Action enquiries & requests on management & repairs
  • Assessing housing need in accordance with Council policy
  • Visit & report on dwellings occupied by families with social difficulties
  • Investigating & taking appropriate action on complaints from residents, Members of Parliament and Councillor’s
  • Drafting committee reports
  • Liaising with existing tenant, resident/leaseholder associations
  • Liaising with resident wardens of sheltered schemes
  • Attending Court as necessary on housing management cases, unauthorized occupants/squatters
  • Attending evictions for rent arrears & unauthorized occupants
  • Calculating charges & consulting with leaseholders in accordance with relevant legislation
  • Attending meetings & emergency situations outside of core hours
  • Updating details on the Housing Management System

The successful candidates will have:

  • A good knowledge of leasehold & repair management
  • Good IT skills including Word & Excel
  • An excellent standard of numeracy & literacy
  • Experience of working with members of the public.
  • Ability to draft complex correspondence & reports
  • Ability to organise personal workloads
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and residents.
  • An understanding of and commitment to the Council’s Equal Opportunities and Race Policy.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team


Experience of Tenancy Management is also desirable
