Administration Officer - £13 per hour + holiday pay


We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated Administration Officer to work as part of the Scanning & Indexing team in Lambeth.

The Administration Officer duties will include (but may not be limited to):  

  • Responsible for the secure handling of all incoming and outgoing mail routed through the post room
  • Provide administrative support to a number of departments ensuring incoming post, whether electronic or hard, is logged, scanned and indexed to agreed time scales
  • Accurate updating a variety of data sources in accordance with set business rules
  • Ensure any original documents are verified for authenticity and referred to the Anti-Fraud Division when necessary
  • Support the Customer Service Centre by meeting customers face to face and obtaining copies of their documents Contribute ideas and support the continued enhancements of the service

The successful Administration Officer will have:

  • Local Authority experience
  • Excellent customer service
  • Experience of working in a fast paced environment delivering high quality work within target time
  • Experience of searching and updating multiple data sources and using Information Technology equipment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills will also be required as you will routinely contact customers via email, letter and telephone
  • Experience in using WRoses document management is desirable but not essential
